Republic Day Special Organic Ashwagandha Carrot Juice
Carrots are synonymous with winters. The delectable vegetable can be used as Kanji (with black carrots) or simple as Gajar Halwa with raisin to warm up the winters. Hard to imagine that the vegetable comes from Persia and was originally cultivated for its leaves and seeds.
Carrots have a number of health benefits being rich in beta carotene, fiber, vitamin K1, potassium and antioxidants. They are weight-loss vegetables and can lower your cholesterol and improve eyesight. Being orange in color, they become our favorite to celebrate our 71st Republic Day.
The recipe for today is a quick one that can be had in the morning after a workout. We are blending it with our Organic Ashwagandha Superoot Powder, which is known to have sports nutrition benefits and can build muscle mass, just like protein powders. In addition it uses few other spices to make the morning warm.
6 medium carrots, scrubbed
1 (1-inch) piece fresh turmeric root (or 1 tbsp powder)
1 (1/2-inch) piece fresh ginger
1/2 medium lemon peeled
1/2 cup filtered water (use judgement to get the consistency that you prefer)
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tsp Good Lyfe Project Ashwagandha Superoot Powder
Blend the ingredients through your juicer with water
Strain with a fine-mesh sieve and pour into the glass of your choice
Stir through the cinnamon
Enjoy as the first drink in the morning or after the workout
